4/3/00 <br />an amount of funds with the Director, in an amount of not less than $2,000 X the total <br />number of occupied units to be converted /demolished. Any additional costs incurred by <br />the Agency will immediately be billed to the Developer. Any excess funds not required <br />for relocation expenses will be returned to the Developer. <br />The Manager will authorize payment to the tenants for moving expense and <br />Rental Assistance Payments, generally in one lump sum payment, unless otherwise <br />requested by the tenant (i.e., moving expense payment to be made prior to the Rental <br />Assistance Payment). <br />PART IV <br />NOTIFICATION TO OWNER AND TENANTS REGARDING <br />APPLICABILITY OF RELOCATION ORDINANCE - <br />CODE ENFORCEMENT ABATEMENT <br />A. ABATEMENT NOTICE FROM BUILDING AUTHORIZING ELIGIBILITY FOR <br />RELOCATION ASSISTANCE <br />When the City Council acts by resolution to abate any portion of a rental dwelling <br />(the 'Resolution ") and determines that all or some of the rental units are uninhabitable, <br />or when a Compliance Order involving a substandard housing condition related to <br />health and /or safety, is issued, the Building Official shall cause the Planning and <br />Redevelopment Division to be notified. A copy of the Resolution or Compliance Order <br />so indicating will be forwarded to the Planning & Redevelopment Division with written <br />confirmation of tenant eligibility and any tenant information available. <br />B. NOTIFICATION TO PROPERTY OWNER <br />1. Upon receipt of notification from the Building Official, the Planning & <br />Redevelopment Division will provide written notice (the "PRD Notice" (Exhibit V) to: <br />a. The affected tenants in the units, and <br />b. The property owner regarding the applicability of Ordinance # 2048 <br />and indicating his requirements to pay costs for relocation. <br />The PRD Notice will contain the following: <br />a. It will describe which unit(s) are affected, whether the relocation is <br />permanent or temporary, the cost of the moving expense payment, and if a comparable <br />replacement unit has been located, the cost of the replacement housing payment. <br />Rvc /council /agent <br />Agent -342 <br />F %5 /fa <br />n /29/. <br />E.7 <br />13861 <br />
