CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ~ -- <br /> RECREATION SPECIALIST (Continued) <br /> <br /> Communicate and interact with parents, school staff or other persons relating to the <br /> activities and their participants. <br /> <br /> Promptly consult with supervisor regarding substantial problems. <br /> <br /> Make presentations regarding recreation programs to individuals or groups. <br /> <br /> Review staff performance and complete staff evaluations in conjunction with direct <br /> supervisor; work with staff to correct deficiencies. <br /> <br /> Monitor program budget and purchase appropriate supplies for program. <br /> <br /> JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br /> Knowledae of: <br /> <br /> Recreation leadership techniques. <br /> <br /> Specialized recreation activities. <br /> <br /> Safe driving practices. <br /> <br /> Departmental philosophy and program expectations. <br /> <br />Ability to: <br /> <br />Plan, organize and conduct a wide variety of recreation activities for all age groups <br />Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing <br /> <br />Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those <br />contacted in the course of work <br /> <br />Supervise casual on-site staff <br /> <br />Exoerience and Traininq Guidelines: <br /> <br />All employees in the classification must have a high school diploma or a GED. The <br />combination of experience, training and education that would likely provide the required <br />knowledge and abilities is shown below. Incumbents may enter at the entry level or <br />journey level, (depending on qualifications and City staffing needs) and advance to the <br />higher level after enhancing their education or experience.
