Upon completion of nine (9) years of employment and <br />thereafter through the sixteenth year of service, full-time employees will accrue <br />vacation at the rate of one-hundred-sixt'j (160) hours per year of service (6.1538 <br />hours per pay period). Upon completion of sixteen (16) years of employment <br />and thereafter through the nineteenth year of service, full-time employees will <br />accrue vacation at the rate of one-hundred-eighty (180) hours per year of service <br />(6.9231 hours per pay period). Upon completion of nineteen (19) years of <br />employment and thereafter, full-time employees will accrue vacation at the rate <br />of two hundred (200) hours per year (7.6923 hours per pay period). <br /> <br />7.14.3 Vacation leave shall not be accumulated in excess of two (2) years accrued <br />vacation leave computed to the 31 st of December, except upon vvritten <br />authorization of the Human Resources Director. <br /> <br />7.14.4 In the event an employee is reinstated, prior service shall be included in <br />determining the applicable rate of accrual of vacation leave. Upon termination <br />of employment a regular employee shall be paid cash value of his/her accrued <br />vacation leave at the time of temlination, in accordance with the above schedule. <br /> <br />7.15 Illness Durine Vacation <br /> <br />7.15.1 An employee who commences a scheduled vacation period and subsequently <br />becomes ill before his or her vacation period has been completed shall be placed <br />on sick leave under the following conditions: <br /> <br />7.15.1.1 The employee otherwise qualified for sick leave as provided by this <br />MOO; and <br /> <br />7.15.1.2 The employee, ifno longer ill, returns to duty immediately following <br />the vacation period; and, <br /> <br />7.15.1.3 The employee's illness is verified by a statement from an accredited <br />medical doctor for each such day of sick leave requested. <br /> <br />7.15.2 When the employee's vacation leave is to be converted to sick leave, the <br />appropriate vacation credit shall be restored to the employee's earned vacation <br />balance, and a reasonable opportunity to utilize this vacation credit shall be <br />provided within the City's existing practices in order to avoid loss of vacation <br />credit. <br /> <br />7.16 Holidavs <br /> <br />Regular full-time employees shall be entitled to take all authorized holidays at full pay, <br />not to exceed ten (10) hours, for anyone (1) day, provided they are in a pay status ten <br />(10) hours, as the case may be, on both their regularly scheduled workdays immediately <br />preceding and following the holiday; and provided further that original probationary <br />employees shall be eligible for the following holidays one (1) through ten (10) only at <br />the straight-time rate of pay during the first six (6) months of service with the City and <br /> <br />12 <br />
