<br />"(fl All "later heating appliances which are <br />installed in a closed system of water piping, or <br />any water heater connected to a separate storage <br />tank and having valves between said heater and <br />tank, shall be provided with a water pressure <br />relief valve. . <br /> <br />"(g) Nothing herein contained shall be deemed to <br />preclude the use of an approved temperature control <br />device in addition to the required relief valve <br />or to prevent the installation of an approved <br />cowhination temperature and pressure relief valve. <br />Each such temperature control device or combination <br />temperature and pressure relief valve shall be <br />installed at an approved location at or within <br />three inches of the hottest part of the heater or <br />tank served and shall be set to operate at 210 <br />degrees Fahrenheit or less and shall be so sized <br />and designed as to prevent any further rise in <br />temperature. Each such combination temperature <br />and pressure relief valve shall be provided with <br />a drain as required in subsection (e) of this <br />section. <br /> <br />Section 1008 of the Plumbing Code is <br /> <br />"Section 9.98 <br /> <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 1008 (a) Installation. All water <br />piping shall be adequately supported to the <br />satisfaction of the administrative authority. <br />Burred ends shall be reamed to the full bore of <br />the pipe. Changes in direction shall be made by <br />the appropriate use of fittings, except that <br />changes in direction in copper tubing may be made <br />with bends having a radius of not less than six <br />diameters of the tubing, providing that such bends <br />are made by the use of forming equipment which <br />does not deform or create a loss in cross <br />sectional area of the tubing. Approved provisions <br />shall be made for expansion in hot water piping. <br />All piping, equipment, appurtenances and devices <br />shall be installed in a \vorkmanlike manner in <br />conformity with the provisions and intent of the <br />Code. <br /> <br />"(b) Water service pipes or any underground water <br />pipes, shall not be run or laid in the same trench <br />with non-metallic building sewer or drainage piping, <br />except as provided in this section. <br /> <br />"The water service pipe may be placed in the same <br />trench with such building drain and building sewer <br />provided both of the following conditions are met: <br /> <br />"(1) The bottom of the water service pipe, at all <br />points, shall be at least 12 inches above the top <br />of the sewer line. <br /> <br />"(2) The water service pipe shall be placed on a <br />solid shelf excavated at one side of the common trench. <br /> <br />-26- <br /> <br />r <br />
