4/24/00 <br /> B. The fees establishe(~_.~rsuant to this Article are develo~ ;nt fees authorized <br /> <br /> under California Government Code Section 66000 et seq. <br /> <br /> C. This Ordinance shall apply to the extent permitted by the statutes and laws of the <br /> State of California. <br /> <br />Section 18,246- Intent and Purpose: <br /> <br /> A. It is the intent and purpose of this Ordinance to: <br /> <br /> 1, Adopt a program for the purpose of jointly funding, from public and private <br /> soumes, transportation system improvements necessitated in whole or in part <br /> by new development within Redwood City. <br /> <br /> 2. Provide an equitable method for allocating the cost of reasonable and <br /> necessary transportation improvements between the public and the private <br /> sector. <br /> <br /> 3. Create a methodology to charge and collect transportation impact fees from <br /> new development. <br /> <br /> 4, Create a system for the collection and administration of transportation impact <br /> fees. <br /> <br /> B. This Article supplements existing authority of the City to regulate development. <br /> This Article shall not be construed or implemented in a manner inconsistent with <br /> the California Environmental Quality Act (Pub. Resources Code § 21000, et <br /> seq,; "CEQA'). The transportation impact fees imposed hereunder shall not <br /> exceed the proportionate share of the costs of traffic and transportation system <br /> improvements that are reasonably related to the development upon Which such <br /> <br /> fees are imposed.
