2. Vice Chairperson White noted he was not comfortable with designating all park areas non-smoking and suggested that the skate park be specifically designated a non-smoking area. 3. Commissioner Joseph asked to add an item 10; under the proposed Chapter 25.2.03 A. so that a permit is required for jumping structures only at approved sites. 4. Commissioner Swope asked that the language regarding service dogs in the park be amended such that it does not imply they are not subject to other park rules. 5. Commissioner Joseph asked that 25.2.03 be changed to say designated picnic sites. MIS Truscelli - Swope to approve the Ordinance with the changes recommended for Council consideration. The motion passed unanimously. ITEM 3 - CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT COMMUNITY OUTREACH POLICY Superintendent Hover reviewed the proposed capital improvement policy which was intended to put in writing how the Commission and the public will be involved in major Capital Improvement Projects connected with the Department. MIS Joseph-Wright to approve the Capital Improvement Community Outreach Policy as presented. ITEM 4 - SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS Commissioner Sargent and Swope along with Superintendent Hover commented on the draft Request for Proposals for a Consultant to assist with the parks needs assessment study. ITEM 5 - ANNUAL REPORT AND MEETING DATE SELECTION Director Centeno noted that copies of the Annual report were distributed to the Commission at tonight's meeting and asked that a date for discussion be determined under Items for next month's agenda. ITEM 6 - UPDATES Fleishman Park Re-opening Celebration Commissioners and Staff commented on the wonderful community involvement at the Fleishman Park Re-opening Celebration. Commissioners asked that a letter be sent to Francisco Espinoza for his work restoring the picnic tables at the park. 4 T
