Procurement Approach <br /> <br />A. Contract Arrangements <br /> <br />. Collection. The SBWMA area will be divided into two service districts. One or <br />two collection contractors will be selected for two service areas. Each member <br />agency will enter into a separate franchise agreement with the selected <br />contractor( s ). <br /> <br />. Shorewav Facilitv Operations. The SBWMA will contract for Shoreway facility <br />operations. <br /> <br />. Off-Site Compostina Services. Composting services will be contracted for by the <br />SBWMA. The Shoreway operator will deliver materials to the selected <br />composting site. <br /> <br />. Off-Site Recyclable Materials Processino Services. Single-stream recyclables <br />collection will require replacement of the Shoreway facility's current recyclables <br />processing system. The SBWMA will contract with an off-site contractor for <br />single-stream recyclables processing on an interim basis (while the Shoreway <br />facility is upgraded), and for back-up capacity (in the event the Shoreway <br />facility's system is not fully operational). <br /> <br />. Off-Site Construction and Demolition Debris (C&D) Processino Services. The <br />SBWMA entered into an agreement for C&D processing in 2006 with Zanker <br />Road Resource Management. The initial term of this agreement expires <br />December 31,2010, but can be extended until December 31,2014.
