<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />Housing and Redevelopment Director (Continued) <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Principles, objectives and techniques of urban redevelopment, economics <br />and sociology relative to urban planning. <br /> <br />Housing finance methods. <br /> <br />Budgeting techniques. <br /> <br />Real estate financing, lending practices, and appraisals. <br /> <br />Construction techniques and applicable codes. <br /> <br />Federal and State laws governing housing. <br /> <br />Redevelopment law and practice. <br /> <br />Supervisory techniques. <br /> <br />Ability to: <br /> <br />Organize, direct, and coordinate the activities in a manner conducive to <br />full performance and high morale. <br /> <br />Delegate authority and responsibility; schedule and program work on a <br />long-term basis. <br /> <br />Supervise, train, and evaluate subordinates. <br /> <br />Meet appropriate physical demands necessary for adequate job <br />performance. <br /> <br />Experience and Education <br /> <br />Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A <br />typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> <br />Experience: <br /> <br />Three years of responsible administrative experience in community <br />development, housing programs, or a related field. <br /> <br />Education: <br /> <br />Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or <br />university in planning or a related field. A Master's Degree and <br />coursework in real estate, development, and financing is desirable. <br /> <br />License or Certificate <br /> <br />Possession of a valid California Driver's License. <br />
