6.1 F <br /> Page 30 <br /> Whenever the above eli�ibility criteria are met, the City will provide <br /> medical benefits at the same benefit tier (sin�te, two-party, family} <br /> whic� t�e emptayee wcut� �ave been rec�ivir�g i� he/she had <br /> contrnued as an active employee. <br /> 10.7.11 For employees who leave the City in good standin�, for reasons other <br /> than retirement, who are not eligibte for benefits as provided in <br /> Section 10.1.7 or 10.1.10, and who have twenty (20) years of service <br /> with the City of Redwaod City, the maximum City contribution toward <br /> health plan coverage shall be equal to the percent of premium paid <br /> for a current employee, for the same plan, for the period September <br /> 1, 2005 throu�h August 31, 20Q8, pravided that the following <br /> conditions are met: <br /> A. The emptoyee is not eligible for similar rnedical benefiYs <br /> through a spouse's health ptan. <br /> B. The emptoyee is not eligible for similar medical benefits <br /> through other employment. <br /> Whenever the above eligibitity criteria are met, the City witl provide <br /> paid medfcal benefits for the employee only. <br /> 10.2 Savin�s CEause <br /> �f, pursuant to any federal or state law which rnay become effective <br /> subsequent to the effective date of this MOU, the City 15 required to pay <br /> contributians or taxes for hospital-medical-surgical, dental care, prescription <br /> drug or other health benefits to be provided its employees under such federal <br /> or state act, the City's obligation to furnish the same benefits under the <br /> hospital-medicat-sur�icat, dental care and major medicat programs existing at <br /> this time shall be suspended and the contributions agreed to be paid monthly <br /> hereunder by the City shatl be reduced each month by the amounts which the <br /> City is required to expend during any such month in the form of contributions <br /> or taxes to support said federa[ or state heatth plan. <br /> ff, as a result af such a Caw, the level of benefits provided by such law for any <br /> group of employees, or their dependents, is lower in certain categories of <br /> services than that provided under the existing major plans the City shall, to the <br /> extent practical, provide a plan of benefits supptementary to the federal or <br /> state benefits so as to make benefits in each category of coverage as nearly <br /> comparabte as possibte to the benefits provided under the major medical <br /> plans. The City need only expend for this purpose the actual amount required <br /> to achieve parity between the benefits a�reed to be provided under the majar <br /> medical plans and the benefits provided under any federal or state plan as <br /> 27 <br />
