6.1 F <br /> Page 32 <br /> In the event the cost of the current Lon�Term Disability plan increases during <br /> the term of this Memorandum of Understanding, the City will reimburse the <br /> actual premium cost up to a maximum of twenty five dottars ($25.00} per <br /> month per employee. <br /> 10.b Vision Care <br /> The City will contract wrth Visian Service Plan (VSP) or comparable vision care <br /> provider to provide vision care benefits for employees and their dependents. <br /> The Vision Service Ptan B provides for an exam every 92 months, tenses every <br /> 12 months if needed, and frames every two years if needed. There is no <br /> deductible for employees, but a $20.00 per person deductible will apply to <br /> dependents each time benefits are avaiiab[e and will be paid by the emptoyee. <br /> SECTION 11. PROBATION <br /> 11.1 New Employees <br /> An employee shall serve a probationary period of ei�hteen (18) months. New <br /> hire tateral Police Officers shall serve a probationary period of twelve (12) <br /> months. Upon satisfacCory completion of such probationary period, the <br /> employee shaii be appointed as a regutar futt-time employee of the City of <br /> Redwood City. <br /> New employees on probation who are off work for more than 30 work days shall <br /> have their probationary period extended by Cne same amount or time as the <br /> work ab5ence. <br /> During the first six (6) months of his or her probationary period, an employee <br /> may be required to pass physical agility and endurance tests, written <br /> examinations, and other job retated subjects. During the tast twelve (12) <br /> months of the probationary period, an emptoyee may be required to pass <br /> periodical written examinations pertainin� to atl phases of the employee's <br /> work. Afi the conclusion of the probationary period, an employee rnay be <br /> required to pass a written examination and performance test. <br /> A probationary emptoyee shalt have the opportunity to read and discuss his or <br /> her manthly performance report with his or her supervisor before such report <br /> becomes part of the emplayee's employment record. <br /> An employee may be separated from the City service at any time durin� the <br /> prnbationary period without ri�ht of appeat or hearing. <br /> z� <br />
