Peace Officer in the hiring process after that Lateral Peace Officer has already contacted the Deparfiment in regards to being hired. SECTION 8. WORK WEEK AND WORK PERIOD 8.1 Regular Workweek and Work period The regutar workweek for unit r•nembers occupyin� full-time pasitions in fihe Police Qepartment shall consist of forty (40) hours. The regutar work period shall be twenty-eight (28� days. 8.2 4/10 and 3/12'/2 5chedules 8.2.1 A1t unit members shalt be pfaced on either a four (4) day, ten (10) hours per day weekly schedute, or a three (3) day, twetve and one- hatf (92'/zj hours per day weekly schedul�. 8.2.2 In the ever�t of an emergency or periods of significant Staffing shortages, the City reserves the right to place unit members on a five (5) day, eight (8) hours per day weekly schedule, in which event the association shall be notified as far in advance as reasonably possibte under the circumstances. 8.2.3 Except as pravided in Section 8.2.2, in the event the City proposes to chan�e the 4/10 schedute to anything other than four (4) ten (90) hour days the association shall be notified at teast ten (10) days in advance of the propased change and given an opportunity to meet and confer regarding the impact of such proposed change prior to imptementation. 8.2.4 Except as provided in Section 8.2.2, in the event the Police Officers Association or the City proposes to discontinue the 3/12'h schedule and return to the 4/10 schedule as outtined in Section 8.2.1, a three (3) month notice witl be given and the schedute change woutd take ptace at the next regular shift change in February or August. 16 _ __
