Provision for payment in accordance <br />with the foregoing may be made when the amendment hereto providing <br />for such compensation is filed with the Secretary of State, but <br />in no event before July I, 1982. <br /> <br />"No councilman shall be eligible during the term for which he <br />was appointed or elected to hold any other office or employment <br />with the city, except as a member of any board, commission, or <br />committee thereof, of which he is constituted such member by <br />general law or by this Charter." <br /> <br />(b) Said Charter amendment proposal shall be submitted to the <br /> <br />electors of the City of Redwood City at the General Municipal Election <br /> <br />to be held in the City on April 13, 1982, in the form of a proposal <br /> <br />to amend said Charter by amending Section 9 thereof. On the ballots <br /> <br />and on the voting machines to be used at said election, in addition <br /> <br />to all other matters required by law to be printed thereon, shall <br /> <br />appear the following: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION C: Shall section 9 of the Charter of <br />the City of Redwood City be amended to <br />allow Councilmember compensation to be in an amount not <br />to exceed that allowed for Councilmembers of general law <br />cities of equivalent population? <br /> <br />SECTION 6. <br /> <br />( a) <br /> <br />The Council of Redwood City hereby proposes, <br /> <br />on its own motion, to amend the Charter of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />by amending Sections 49(a) and 67 thereof to read as follows: <br /> <br />(I) Amend Section 49(a) to read as follows: <br /> <br />"SECTION 49(a) CONTRACTS: <br /> <br />"Except as otherwise provided herein, all public work requiring <br /> <br />-6- <br />
