7. STUDY SESSION <br />A. Fiscal year 2007/2008 Budget Study Session No. 2 <br />1. Water and Sewer Funds (PowerPoint Presentation on file.) <br />Public Works Services Director Barwacz gave the opening comments <br />explaining that sewer charge estimates were difficult to determine with final <br />estimate information coming after staff reports were completed. <br />PWS Superintendent Rosas made the presentation of the water enterprise fund <br />with an overview of the status of the fund, significant budget changes in the <br />coming fiscal year, and some of the accomplishments of the last fiscal year. <br />PWS Superintendent Harang explained that the presentation focuses on the <br />current budget and she further outlined the increases as a result of recent data. <br />Council Members asked various questions. <br />M/S Howard /Aguirre to accept the budget for the funds as presented. The <br />motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. <br />2. Redevelopment Agency Budget for Fiscal Year 2007/08 — City <br />Council /Redevelopment A_gency Board <br />Redevelopment Manager Moeller explained the proposed budget. (PowerPoint <br />Presentation on file.) <br />Housing and Economic Development Manager Webb gave a report on housing <br />and economic development. <br />Council asked questions pertaining to a timeline for building on the Bradford <br />Street site. City Manager Everett stated that a timeline should be presented to <br />the Council in the near future on this topic. A request for a study session on the <br />status of Block 2 was also made. <br />Redevelopment Manager Moeller further discussed events, improvements and <br />projects being conducted or proposed in the downtown area. <br />Council Members thanked staff and expressed pride in the downtown <br />improvements. <br />Questions were asked about the Legal Aid Society agreement and its effect on <br />low income housing and other programs.
