<br />7A <br />Page 34 <br /> <br />11.AII work in the public right-ot-way requires a Construction Permit trom <br />Engineering and Construction Services. Work along Middlefield Road near <br />Woodside Road will also require permit approval from Caltrans. The applicant <br />shall enter into an Improvement Agreement for improvements within the <br />public right-ot-way. <br /> <br />12. The applicant shall submit a complete application to Caltrans for the purposes <br />of optimizing signal synchronization of the Woodside/Middlefield intersection <br />with the Mltldlefield intersections at Willow and Charter Streets. The <br />synchronization design shall be approved by Redwood City Engineering and <br />Construction Services prior to submittal. This application shall be submitted to <br />Caltrans prior to issuance of Building Permit for the warehouse. The City will <br />support the application and the applicant will be responsible for <br />implementation if Caltrans deems the synchronization feasible and approves <br />the application. <br /> <br />13.A construction traffic control plan shall be submitted to Engineering and <br />Construction Services for review and approval prior to issuance of grading or <br />building permits. The plan shall indicate and describe any proposed lane or <br />sidewalk closures; pedestrian detours during sidewalk closures; large <br />construction vehicle entry and exit to/from the site; and reduced lane widths <br />during reconstruction ot curb, gutter, sidewalk, or driveways. <br /> <br />14. The project plans include improvements to Middlefield Road, including, but <br />not limited to a new signalized intersection at Willow Street to accommodate <br />the new site entrance location; an extended left turn queue pocket on <br />northbound Middlefield Road approaching Woodside Road; new sidewalks, <br />curb, and gutter along the project frontage; new planted landscape strips <br />along the project frontage; new planted median; a relocated and improved <br />bus stop along the project frontage; two new crosswalks; and lane <br />configurations that include approximately 4-foot wide striped shoulders on <br />both sides of Middlefield Road. Additional design requirements will be made <br />by Engineering and Construction Services and include, but are not limited to <br />emergency vehicle preemption signals at the Willow and Charter Street <br />intersections as well as at Woodside Road with Caltrans approval; signal loop <br />detectors for bicyclists at the Willow and Charter Street intersections as well <br />as at Woodside Road with Caltrans approval; pedestrian countdown signals <br />at the Willow and Charter Street crosswalks; and "Do Not Block" or another <br />form of pavement demarcation appropriate for maintaining ingress and egress <br />at adjacent streets and commercial driveways and deemed appropriate by the <br />City Traffic Engineer. Crosswalk design (demarcation, materials, signage) are <br />also subject to review by the City Traffic Engineer and may include a lighting <br />system jf deemed appropriate. Concurrency with the warehouse construction <br />is required for all of these improvements. The improvements shall be <br />accepted by the City prior to issuance of any occupancy permit for the <br />warehouse. <br /> <br />Page 7 of 21 <br />
