7A
ATTACHMENT 1 PagQ 22
Mitigation Impact BIO-1.1: Remoual of large redwood or oak trees ancf other
vege#ation, as part of the proposed deveiopment, may be scheduled between Octaber
and Decernber (inclusive} to avoid the raptor nesting season and na additional surveys
would be required.
Mitigaiion impact BI-1.2: If removal of large trees would take place between
January and September, a pre-construction survey #ar nesting rap#ors shall be
conducted by a qualified ornithologist ta identify active nesting raptor or other bird nests
that may be disturbed during project imp{ementation. Between January anc! Apri!
(incfusive) pre-construction surveys shall be canducted no more than 14 days prior to
th iritiat;cn of construction rtivitiP or tree relocation or removal. Between Niay ard
Augus# (inciusive), pre-construction surveys shall be conducted no more than thirty (3Q}
days prior to the initiation of these activities. The surveying orni#hologist shali inspect all
trees in and immediately adjacen# to the construction area for nests. I# an active raptor
;; fun ,;, r A anni ih tn the Gonstruction area to be disturbed b_y these
activities, the ornithologist shaii, in consul#ation with the State of California, Department
of Fish & Game (CDFG), designate a construction-free buffer zone (typically 250 #eet)
around the nest until the end of fihe nesting activity.
The applicant shafi submit a repart indicating the result of fihe survey and any
designated buffer zones to the stisfaction af the Department o# Communi±y
Development Services prior to the issuance of a grading or bui{ding permit.
Finding: The City Council of the City of Redwood City adopts Mitigation
Measures BIO-1.1 and BIO-1.2 as feasible measures, and finds that their
implementation would reduce biological resource impacts of the project to a less-than-
significant level.
F, HYDROLOGY AND WATER QUALITY IMPACTS
Potential fmpact HIWQ-9: Cons#ruction activities on the project site, including
building and pavement removal and earthmoving, cou4d result in adverse impacts #o the
water quafi#y of Redwood and Cordilleras Creeks, and ultimate}y, San Francisco Bay.
Standard Condition 4.7-1: Stormwater discharge will be anaiyzed during the final
design phase and the design wilf fiollaw all approved procedures in the STOPPP
Hydromodification Management Plan (HMP). Meeting the flow duration control criteria
generally requires some type of detention and/or infiltration facifities that reduce the
vofume and controE the rate of post-proiect discharge.
AttylResolReso.1738
082207
