MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST — <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub - section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 31 -2007 and 32 -2007. Council may direct staff to act on <br />positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus <br />available in City Clerk's Department). <br />B. Consideration of resolutions proposed for adoption at the Annual League of <br />California Cities Conference on September 5 -8, 2007 <br />Mayor Pierce stated that four resolutions have been introduced for consideration <br />and that she is proposing support for three of them. She further explained the <br />resolutions. <br />M/S Foust/Ira to support the three of four resolutions introduced for consideration at <br />the Annual League of California Cities Conference as follows: 1.) Renewal of <br />League Grassroots Network Program, 2.) Healthy Aging, and 4.) Implementation of <br />AB 38; establishing a New "Department of Emergency Services and Homeland <br />Security ". The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. (205) <br />MINUTE ORDER 07 -159 <br />C. Appointments to City Council- appointed Civic Cultural Commission <br />Applicants are listed in alphabetic order. <br />1.
