CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR (Continued) <br />to regulatory agencies to address formal complaints and prepares appropriate <br />documentation. <br />15. Coordinates workforce planning and succession planning initiatives with City <br />departments. <br />16. Prepares, administers, and maintains the Human Resources Department budgets <br />including forecasting future needs as well as monitoring and controlling <br />expenditures. <br />17. Researches, compiles, analyzes and evaluates general and statistical information <br />regarding selection procedures, recruitment methods, benefits administration, <br />compensation, and related human resources practices. <br />18. Prepares and directs the preparation of a variety of written correspondence, <br />reports, procedures, analyses, and other written materials. <br />19. Keeps the Assistant City Manager properly informed of activities and issues of the <br />department. Prepares for and makes presentations to City staff and the City <br />Council, as necessary. <br />20. Attends human resources conferences and seminars to remain current of <br />professional and legal issues and continually monitor's the City's compliance with <br />federal, state and local laws and regulations. <br />21. Performs related duties as assigned. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of: <br />Principles and practices of human resources management in a public agency, <br />including methods and techniques for recruitment, selection, equal employment <br />opportunity, classification, compensation, benefit analysis and administration, <br />employee and labor relations, employee and organizational development, workers' <br />compensation and safety. <br />Applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances and codes related <br />to human resources. <br />Organizational and management practices for analyzing and evaluating programs, <br />policies, and operational needs related to human resources. <br />Practices and techniques for evaluating and managing outcomes, including the <br />maintenance and analysis of human resources metrics. <br />
