<br />Six bids were received for the 2018-2019 Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project by the bid deadline on
<br />May 15, 2019. The bid amounts are summarized in the table below.

<br />The low bid of $3,738,000.00 submitted by Casey Construction Inc. is 1.6% lower than the low range of
<br />the engineer's estimate of $3,800,000.00 for the cost of construction.
<br />Staff reviewed several references provided by Casey Construction Inc. for similar completed projects. The
<br />references provided satisfactory feedback in regards to accountability and performance of the contractor.
<br />Based on the bids received and feedback from the references, staff believes that the low bid is reasonable
<br />and recommends awarding the contract to Casey Construction Inc.
<br />Construction is anticipated to begin in August 2019, and conclude in January 2020. Notification of the
<br />proposed work will be mailed to area residents, property owners, business owners, and schools in July
<br />2019. The contractor is required to distribute an additional notice 14 days in advance of the start of work
<br />in their immediate area. Updates on the progress of construction will be available on the City's website.
<br />FISCAL IMPACT
<br />Funds for the 2018-2019 Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project were previously approved and appropriated
<br />in Fiscal Year 2018-19 budget as Sewer Fund Capital Projects — Collection System Replacement Program
<br />and Sewer Rehabilitation Program with available balances of $4,100,599.88 and $399,576.10,
<br />respectively, as of April 30, 2019.
