complies with zoning district regulations for height, stories, and daylight plane. <br />The structure fronts EI Camino Real, a major regional arterial, and is found to <br />be proportional to the site. <br />The two townhome buildings incorporate similar design elements, which <br />provide a balanced harmonious appearance. The size and design of the <br />project is similar to the adjacent residential development under construction, <br />which was designed by the same architecture firm. <br />C. The extent to which the structure conforms to the general character of <br />other structures in the vicinity insofar as the character can be <br />ascertained and is found to be architecturally desirable; <br />The site is located in an area with a variety of housing types including single- <br />family homes, multi -family apartments, and three-story townhomes. The <br />average unit size would be approximately 1,800 square feet of living area, <br />which is consistent with other housing types in the area. The height of the <br />structure is comparable to an adjacent three-story multi -family townhomes <br />under construction — approved in 2015. The structure would be located on EI <br />Camino Real, which allows for taller buildings, including both residential and <br />commercial uses. <br />The Project would use typical exterior materials as described below similar to <br />exterior materials found in surrounding homes. The colors and materials <br />conform to the architectural design of the buildings and are consistent with the <br />general neighborhood character. <br />D. The extent to which excessive ornamentation is to be used and the <br />extent to which temporary and second-hand materials, or materials <br />which are imitative of other materials, are to be used. <br />Exterior materials would include stucco cladding, cementitious lap siding, <br />smooth cementitious panels, metal railings and awnings, and composition <br />shingle roofing. <br />E.
