In addition, direct the City Manager to initiate, during Fiscal Year 2007-2008, an <br />operational/organizational assessment of the IT needs, recommended structure and required <br />staffing of an IT Division. This option provides necessary and ongoing IT services while an <br />operational/organizational assessment is conducted concerning the City's IT needs; as well as, the <br />opportunity to analyze the cost-effectiveness of continuing contracting out IT services versus <br />establishing and managing the service in-house. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts: <br />The FY 2007-2008 Adopted Budget includes appropriations for IT services. A total of$65,000 <br />is estimated be required to extend the existing agreement with Palo Alto from July I, 2007 <br />through August 31, 2007 for the purpose of facilitating a transition of IT services and support. If <br />authorized, a new agreement with Redwood City from September 1, 2007 through August 31, <br />2008. The amount for the 12 month agreement is expected to not exceed $253,800 for the <br />services and rates discussed earlier in this report. <br /> <br />Should Council decide to authorize preparation of an Information Services and Support <br />organizational/operational assessment to be completed during FY 2007-2008, an RFP will need to <br />be prepared and issued to identify and recommend interested experienced consultants who could <br />perform the assessment and identify the costs associated with the work. <br /> <br />Attachments: Attachment A - March 20, 2007 - Staff Report and Resolution #) <br />Attachment B - FY 2005-2007 Extended Contract with Palo Alto <br />Attachment C - Proposed Contract with Redwood City <br />
