Effective May 31, 2020, the parties shall reopen on <br />the issue of CTO. <br />7.5.3 Forty (40) Hour Workweek Employees <br />For the purposes of this MOU, overtime for employees in the <br />classification of Deputy Fire Marshal and Fre Prevention Officer is <br />authorized time worked beyond forty (40) hours in paid status in <br />one (1) seven (7) -day work week, and for work performed in <br />excess of eight (8) consecutive hours in one (1) day (exclusive of <br />lunch period), except as provided in Section 7.5.4. For the <br />purpose of this Section 7.5 (Overtime), the work week <br />begins at 12:00 a.m. on Monday and ends at 11:59 p.m. on <br />Sunday. Overtime shall be paid at the rate of one and one- half <br />(1.5) times the employee's regular straight -time rate. For the purposes <br />of this MOU, the regular rate of pay shall be defined as the employee's <br />base hourly rate of pay based on a 40 hour work week (80 hours per <br />pay period), and including bilingual differential. Overtime must be <br />authorized by the Fire Chief, or designated representative, prior to <br />such overtime being worked. <br />For the purposes of this MOU, an employee in the classification of <br />Deputy Fire Marshal or Fire Prevention Officer who is assigned to a <br />shift consisting of more than eight (8) consecutive hours per shift <br />(exclusive of lunch period) shall be entitled to overtime pay for <br />work in excess of forty (40) hours in paid status in one (1)work <br />week. <br />7.5.5 Hire Back Procedures <br />Any changes to the Hire Back procedures will be by meet and confer. <br />7.5.6 Fire Captains shall have the right of first refusal to fill a vacant Captain <br />position. <br />7.6 Emergency Medical Technician/ Paramedic Pay <br />The City Council sets policy regarding implementation of emergency medical <br />technician ("EMT' and paramedic service for the City of Redwood City. This <br />agreement is not intended to undermine the City Council's policy authority. <br />However, the City will, upon request, meet with the IAFF to discuss modifications <br />related to any of the paramedic programs. <br />7.6.1 EMT Premium Pay <br />Compensation to Fire Fighter/Engineers and Fire Captains who obtain <br />and maintain EMT certification. All Redwood City <br />Firefighter/Engineers and Fire Captains must have EMT certification. <br />20 <br />
