Maintaining the certification shall be the responsibility of the employee and is required to avoid loss of <br />incentive pay. <br />The City will reimburse employees for successful completion of Management approved courses to attain <br />qualifying certification through the City -Wide Educational Reimbursement Program or Department training <br />budget within budgeted limits. <br />15.13 Building Employees' Certification Incentive Program <br />15.13.1 Building Inspection Certification Pay <br />This program is intended to provide an incentive for City employees in the classification of K710 — <br />Building Inspector to obtain and maintain certifications above what is required by the job <br />description. <br />Please note that the Building Inspection Certification, or equivalent, is required by job description, <br />therefore no additional compensation for obtaining this certification will be provided. <br />1. For those employees who obtain certifications from any of the following three categories the <br />City will provide a one-time bonus of $600.00 for each certification obtained to a maximum of <br />$1,200.00. To qualify for the second $600.00 bonus the second certification must be obtained <br />from a different category than the first. <br />a. ICC Commercial Plumbing Inspection Certificate or IAPMO Plumbing Inspection <br />Certificate <br />b. ICC Commercial Electrical Inspection Certificate <br />c. ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspection Certificate or IAPMO Mechanical Inspection <br />Certificate <br />2. Employees in the classification of Building Inspector (K710) who obtain the recognized <br />Certifications in Building, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical shall be eligible for 5% <br />differential for as long as they remain in that classification and continue to possess all four valid <br />certifications. Effective the first full pay period following February 1, 2014, employees in the <br />classification of Building Inspector who are regulady assigned to inspect fire sprinklers (fewer <br />than twenty [20] heads) and who receive City training in fire sprinkler inspection shall be eligible <br />for a one percent (1%) differential during the period of assignment. In the event Building <br />Inspectors are no longer assigned fire sprinkler inspection duties, the City will discontinue <br />payment of the one percent (1 %) differential. <br />The City will reimburse employees for successful completion of Management approved training <br />through the City -Wide Educational Reimbursement Program. Management will review on a case- <br />by-case basis any training programs which cost above the limits set in the Educational <br />Reimbursement Program. <br />The City will pay for the cost of successful completion of certification exams and re -certification <br />exams. <br />25 <br />
