The City will pay for the cost of successful completion of certification exams and re -certification <br />exams. <br />Wastewater Employees: <br />In 2011, employees in the classifications of Public Works Maintenance Worker I, Il, and III (sewer <br />assignment only), Lead Public Works Maintenance Worker, Utilities Worker and Utilities Specialist <br />assigned to the Wastewater Division were classified into new job classifications with wastewaterjob <br />duties and the following certification requirements: <br />Job Classification Certificatinn Ramdramante <br />PWMW 1 -II Wastewater <br />Wastewater Collection System Grade I <br />PWMW III (Wastewater - Sewer Assignment <br />Wastewater Collection System Grade II <br />Only), Lead PWMW (Wastewater), Utilities <br />Worker (Wastewater), Utilities Specialist <br />Wastewater <br />Employees in these classifications were required to obtain the above certifications by January 1, <br />2013. Effective the first pay period following ratification and adoption of the 2011-2014, salary <br />schedules for the classifications of Public Works Maintenance Worker I and II (Wastewater), Public <br />Works Maintenance Worker III (Wastewater -Sewer Assignment Only), Lead Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker (Wastewater), Utilities Worker (Wastewater), and Utilities Specialist <br />(Wastewater), were increased by one percent (1%) to reflect the new certification requirements. <br />Effective the first full pay period following February 1, 2014, salary schedules for the classifications <br />of Public Works Maintenance Worker I and II (Wastewater), Public Works Maintenance Worker III <br />(Wastewater -Sewer Assignment Only), Lead Public Works Maintenance Worker (Wastewater), <br />Utilities Worker ( Wastewater), and Utilities Specialist (Wastewater), will be increased by an <br />additional one percent (1%) (for a total of two percent 2%) in recognition of the ongoing certification <br />requirements. <br />Wastewater and non -wastewater classifications will be treated as combined classifications, as <br />described in Appendix A, for the purposes of layoff, bumping, and the creation of seniority lists <br />described in Article 7. <br />15.15.2 Classification Study (Historical Data) <br />During the term of the 2017 agreement, the parties reopened the meet and confer process and <br />reached tentative agreement over salary and certification pay forjob classifications within the Public <br />Works Water Resources Division. <br />ARTICLE 16 • HOURS OF WORK, OVERTIME, PREMIUM PAY <br />16.1 Hours of Work <br />16.1.1 Full-time employees are those employees regularly assigned to work forty (40) hours in a seven (7) <br />day work period. <br />16.1.2 The regular work period shall consist of a seven (7) day workweek which begins Monday morning at <br />12:01 a.m., and ends Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. Regular full-time employees will usually be <br />assigned to work five (5) consecutive days served in units of eight (8) hours per day during the seven <br />27 <br />
