WHEREAS, Centrum, Oracle, and Centrum Owners (collectively, the <br />"Developer") propose to enter into a Second Amendment to the Original <br />Development Agreement (the "Second Amendment"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Original Development Agreement, First Amendment, and <br />Second Amendment all pertain to certain real property consisting of <br />approximately 65.8 acres (the "Property") fronting on Marine Parkway and <br />bounded, in part, by Belmont Slough, in the Redwood Shores area of the City of <br />Redwood City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the Original Development Agreement and the <br />First Amendment, portions of the Property were to be developed as an office <br />park, but with a portion thereof to be developed as a hotel; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Developer proposes, pursuant to the Second <br />Amendment, to revise the Development Agreement to provide for the <br />construction of an additional office building and a parking structure in lieu of the <br />hotel; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the California Environmental <br />Quality Act ("CEQA'; Pub. Resources Code § 21000, et seq.), a final <br />Environmental Impact Report (the "FEIR") was prepared in 1982, certified as <br />having been completed in compliance with CEQA, and was considered by this <br />Council in connection with the approval of the developments approved under the <br />Original Development Agreement and the First Amendment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on May 21, 1996, the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Redwood City certified that a technical addendum (the "Addendum") had been <br /> <br />Reso-49 2 <br />G :~Shared",Redwood~Co uncil <br />06/20/96 <br /> <br /> <br />
