EXHIBIT B <br />FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND SERVICE <br />EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 521 FEBRUARY 1, 2017 <br />- JANUARY 31, 2019 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ("City") and Service Employees International <br />Union Local 521 ("SEIU") met and conferred on changes to the City's classification and salary <br />plan to establish the new classifications of Water Resources Technician, Lead Water Resources <br />Technician, and Water Quality Specialist and remove the classifications of Customer Support <br />Services Specialist, Recycled Water Specialist, and Water Conservation Specialist; and <br />WHEREAS, it is now the mutual desire and intent of the parties to amend the Memorandum <br />of Understanding between the City and SEIU for the period of February 1, 2017 — January 31, <br />2019 ("MOU") to incorporate the terms and conditions of employment and compensation for <br />newly established positions. <br />NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants contained in the original <br />MOU and as provided herein, the MOU is AMENDED to read as follows: <br />Section 15.15.1 of the MOU, entitled "Certification Pay," is hereby deleted and <br />replaced with Section 15.15.1 below. <br />15.15.1 Certification Pav <br />Water EmDlovees: <br />This program is intended to provide an incentive for City employees in positions assigned to the <br />Water Division to obtain and maintain certifications above what is required by the job description. <br />The City will provide a Certification Recognition Payment (CRP) of two percent (2%) for <br />possession of job-related certifications above the certifications requirements for the worker's job <br />classification as follows: <br />Job Classification <br />Certification Pay Requirements <br />PWMW-I/II (Water), Water AWWA Water Distribution Operator <br />Resources Technician, Water Grade II (D2) <br />Resources Specialist <br />Lead Water Resources Technician <br />PWMW III (Water), Lead PWMW <br />(Water), Utilities Locator <br />Utilities Worker (Water), Utilities <br />Specialist (Water) <br />AWWA Water Distribution Operator <br />Grade II (D2) OR AWWA Cross - <br />Connection Specialist Certification (in the <br />event the employee has both certificates, <br />the CRP will not exceed two percent (2%) <br />AWWA Water Distribution Operator <br />Grade III (D3) <br />AWWA Water Distribution Operator <br />Grade IV (D4) <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />ATTY/RESO.0114/CC RESO SEIU MOU AMENDMENT EXHIBIT B <br />REV: 12-29-17 MI <br />
