The disclosure shall indicate the <br />specifications for the installed air filtration system. <br />F. NOISE <br />NCI -I: The proposed project <br />and the project variant would <br />locate residential land uses in <br />an area that, based on the City's <br />Noise and Land Use <br />Compatibility Guidelines, is <br />generally considered an <br />unacceptable noise environment <br />for residential land uses. <br />N0I-1: Prior to issuance of building permits, the applicant <br />shall prepare an acoustical study that demonstrates how <br />residential units will meet the habitable room noise <br />insulation standard of 45 dBA CNEL. The residential units <br />shall include design features such as the following, or <br />others approved by the City after review of the acoustical <br />study, to the extent necessary to meet the 45 dBA CNEL <br />standard for each unit: <br />• In order for windows and doors to remain closed, <br />provide mechanical ventilation such as air conditioning. <br />• Install windows and glass doors rated STC 33 or higher <br />in all units located within 170 feet of US 101. <br />• Construct exterior walls with a minimum STC rating of <br />STC -46. <br />• Install vent ducts connecting interior spaces to the <br />exterior (i.e., bathroom exhaust, etc.) with at least two <br />90 degree turns in the duct. <br />• Install windows and doors in an acoustically -effective <br />manner. Install sliding -window panels with an air -tight <br />seal when in the closed position and the window frames <br />caulked to the wall opening around the perimeter with a <br />non -hardening caulking compound to prevent sound <br />infiltration.
