<br />In the fIrst round of workshops, MIG will conduct an innovative hands-on CPTED training to allow <br />community residents to become directly involved in the design process and get a thorough understanding of <br />key CPTED principles. In addition, the workshops will touch on other principles of a safe community. At the <br />kick-off workshop, MIG will also lead community members on a walking tour of the project area to identify <br />assets, opportunities, and community concerns. The mobile nature of the workshop makes it an ideal chance <br />for families and other residents to participate at multiple levels. Community members will have an <br />opportunity to put their new CPTED skills to work as they survey the project area and fInd opportunities for <br />change. <br /> <br />The smaller community workshops be held in a "coffeehouse" format and will provide focused space for <br />existing community groups and other residents to explore some of the key concerns in a hands-on manner. <br />These workshops will be scheduled to dovetail with existing community events to ensure that a diverse group <br />of residents is able to participate. <br /> <br />The MIG Team will provide no fewer than three staff members for the large workshop and no fewer than two staff members for <br />each smaller workshop. MIG will collaborate with the Ciry to identijj appropriate meeting space for each workshop. The Ciry <br />will be responsible for al!)l rental fees or other costs associated with the use of meeting spaces. MIG will be responsible for <br />providing snacks, beverages, and child care at the large workshop. At the smaller workshops, MIG will provide snacks and <br />beverages as appropriate and will provide activiry materials to occupy children. <br /> <br />B5: Workshop Report, Round 1 <br />Deliverable #5: Round 1 Workshop Report <br /> <br />Due ry: Three weeks after fInal Round 1 workshop <br /> <br />MIG will prepare a workshop summary that documents the key results of Workshops #1-3. This report will <br />include summary-level results of the workshop as well as detailed photographs or transcriptions of all <br />wallgraphics, activity results, comment cards received, and other documentation of the workshops. <br /> <br />The MIG Team lvill provide one full-color electronic copy of the report to the Ciry. <br /> <br />B6: Workshop Activity Materials (Workshops 4-6) <br />Deliverable #6: Round 2 Workshop Materials <br /> <br />Due ry: February 2008 <br /> <br />MIG will develop innovative, hands-on materials tailored to support each of the fIrst three community <br />workshops, including presentation materials, comment cards, and up to six (6) appropriate maps for each <br />event. MIG will provide all materials to the City in full-color electronic format at least ten days before each <br />event (or earlier as needed if agreed upon with the City in advance). The City will be responsible for printing <br />and plotting materials as needed. <br /> <br />B7: Workshop Round 2 (Workshops 4-6) <br />Dates: February/March 2008 <br /> <br />The second round of workshops will employ MIG's time-tested, award-winning visioning techniques to craft <br />a future for the project area through identifIcation of key community issues and goals. Again, the MIG Team <br />will conduct one large three-hour workshop and two smaller two-hour workshops. For the large workshop, <br />MIG will again collaborate with the Multicultural Institute's seasoned team of community organizers. The <br />MIG Team will facilitate two simultaneous sessions, one in English and one in Spanish to help all members <br />of the community feel safe, welcome, and free to speak openly. Both workshops will feature MIG's signature <br />"wallgraphic" visual tools and will be facilitated by experienced MIG facilitators; the Spanish-language <br />workshop will be facilitated by staff fluent in Spanish, with support from bilingual Multicultural Institute <br />staff. The two groups will gather for the fInal hour of the workshop to merge their ideas into a single cross- <br />cultural vision for Fair Oaks. <br /> <br />MOORE IACOFANO GOL TSMAN, INC.
