11/30/2009 <br />3. The City Council does declare and determine that the following candidates <br />were elected for the full term of four years by the following vote: <br />Jeff Gee 4644 <br />Jeff Ira 5077 <br />John Seybert 3724 <br />4. The City Council of the City of Redwood City submitted to the qualified <br />voters of the City at the Consolidated General Election, Measures " X " and "Y". <br />Measure X"; "Shall Section 18(A) of the City Charter be amended to create <br />a seven member Library Board, all to be appointed by the City Council; 18(f) be added to <br />provide that the Library Board would establish rules for its proceedings and the City <br />Council would set forth the authority and duties of the Library Board, and deleting <br />Sections 19, 19 Y2 and 20 in their entirety ?" <br />Measure "Y ": Shall Ordinance No. 2346 be adopted to increase the rates of <br />Redwood City's Business License Tax by 16.67% per year (rounded to the nearest whole <br />dollar amount) for each of the three successive fiscal years commencing on July 1, 2010, <br />and then commencing on July 1, 2013 and annually thereafter, be increased based upon <br />the annual change in the Consumer Price Index ?" <br />5. That as a result of the election, a majority of the voters voting on the Measure <br />relating to the Charter Amendment (Measure "X ") did vote in favor of the Measure and <br />was carried and shall be deemed adopted and ratified; and that a majority of the voters <br />voting on the Measure relating to the Ordinance (Measure "Y ") did not vote in favor of the <br />Measure and was not carried and shall not be deemed adopted and ratified. <br />Measure "X" 4353 <br />Measure "Y" 3415 <br />6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of the City, a <br />statement of the results of the election, showing: (1) the whole number of ballots cast in <br />the City; (2) the names of persons voted for; (3) the Measures voted upon; (4) for what <br />office each person was voted for; (5) the number of votes given at each precinct to each <br />person, and for and against each measure; (6) the total number of votes given to each <br />person, and for and against each Measure. <br />7. The City Clerk shall make and deliver to each of the persons so elected a <br />Certificate of Election, signed by the City Clerk and authenticated; that the City Clerk shall <br />also administer to each person elected the Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of <br />the State of California and shall have each of them subscribe to it and file it in the office of <br />the City Clerk.
