<br />PP'S:djg-c <br />DES:djg-c <br /> <br />5/20/83 <br />5/21/83R <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed development and approval of the afore- <br /> <br />said Parcel Map are of benefit to the City of Redwood City and <br /> <br />provide for the public and private use of the properties described <br /> <br />in the 1959 and 1964 Gift Deeds in a manner providing greater <br /> <br />public benefit than that which would be provided pursuant to said <br /> <br />Gift Deeds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the properties encumbered by the interests conveyed <br /> <br />pursuant to the 1959 and 1964 Gift Deeds are within the Port Area <br /> <br />specified in the Charter of the City of Redwood City, and are <br /> <br />subject to the jurisdiction of the Board of Port Commissioners of <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Board of Port Commissioners did, at its meeting <br /> <br />of May 19, 1983, by motion duly made and carried, recommend to this <br /> <br />Council that the City of Redwood City quitclaim all its interest in <br /> <br />and to the properties described in the 1959 and 1964 Gift Deeds and <br /> <br />in Exhibit I hereof; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council hereby finds and declares that the interests <br /> <br />acquired by the City of Redwood City under the 1959 and 1964 Gift <br /> <br />Deeds hereinabove described are no longer necessary or required for <br /> <br />public use and said interest are surplus; and, further, that the <br /> <br />abovementioned proposed development and Parcel Map provide for <br /> <br />2 <br />
