<br />~eptember 1986 <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />PERSONNEL CLERK <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />EXHIBIT "D" <br /> <br />To perform complex clerical work, processing personnel action forms, workers <br />compensation claims, recruitment notifications, correspondence, and other areas <br />involved in Personnel administration; to assist employees and the public; and to <br />perform related work as required. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Direction is provided by the Director of Human Resources, Personnel Analyst or <br />Administrative Secretary. Technical or functional supervision is provided by <br />the Administrative Secretary. <br /> <br />Assignments may include indirect supervision of clerical support. <br /> <br />EXA~lPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />Perform a wide variety of complex, responsible, and confidential clerical duties <br />for the Director of Human Resources, Personnel Analyst, and Administrative <br />Secretary. <br /> <br />Provide information on City personnel policies, rules, and regulations in <br />response to City employees and the public including such areas as examination <br />procedures, provide general administrative support to the Personnel Office, <br />handling purchasing and payroll activities. <br /> <br />Prepare and maintain a variety of files and records. <br /> <br />Provide the clerical support for the City's workers compensation program, <br />including correspondence, checking reports for accuracy and completion, <br />reporting accidents to medical clinics, maintaining OSHA records, instituting <br />State disability retirement claims. <br /> <br />Prepare new employee files and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed for <br />each new employee and maintain complete personnel files on all City employees. <br /> <br />Type on word processor job specifications and announcements, correspondence, <br />reports, forms and records. <br /> <br />Responsible for auditing Department's bills, typing payment requests, and <br />maintaining record of bills. <br /> <br />Make room arrangements for written and oral examinations, training activities. <br /> <br />Score test papers, compute final scores, prepare eligible lists, notify <br />candidates of standing in application process, arrange appointments for pre- <br />employment physical examinations. <br /> <br />Conduct labor market studies and surveys and prepare reports and light <br />correspondence. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Modern office methods, procedures, and equipment and business letter <br />writing. _ <br />
