CWM:djm 11/06/89 (098/#25)
CWM:djm /29/89R

monitoring mitigation measures through the budget

cycle report.

b. Fire Protection.

1. Significant Effects. Cumulative development
may result in the need for additional fire fighters

to maintain current levels of service.

2. Findings. When specific redevelopment and

potential private sector projects are proposed the

manpower and equipment needs should be evaluated by

the Fire Department on a project by project basis.

Specific projects could create demand for additional

equipment or personnel in the Fire Department. The

City

Planning

Commission

and

the

Director

of

Redevelopment shall consider requiring that the

project pay its fair share of costs incurred by the

department as a result of the project.

3. Rationale and Facts Supporting Findings.

Unlike other significant effects, a requirement to

increase manpower as a result of a site specific

proposal can be evaluated as to increased cost to the

City. These increased costs are somewhat balanced by

the

increased

revenues

to

the

City

but may

nevertheless be weighed to determine what requirement

to impose on the development.

4. Mitigation Monitoring Responsibility.

The City Planning Commission and the Housing and

Redevelopment Director shall be responsible for

l2

11190
