Description
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1988 EDITION", AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Article II (commencing at 12.7) is hereby added to Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, to read as follows

<br /> FXS:dft /29/90R (002/9) <br /> FXS:dft LL/04/90R <br />amended. <br /> (c) Notwithstanding the provisions of this code or the <br />provisions of any other code of the City of Redwood City, <br />approved automatic sprinkler systems shall be installed in <br />those buildings or structures: <br /> (1) The total floor area of which is seven thousand <br /> five hundred (7,500) square feet or more; <br /> (2 ) Which are fifty (50) feet or more in height as <br /> that term is defined in Section 409 of the Uniform <br /> Building Code, 1979 Edition; or <br /> (3 ) which are four (4) stories or more irrespective of <br /> height. <br /> (d) More Restrictive Standards. In the event <br /> standards or requirements of this section are less <br /> restrictive than the standards or requirements of any <br /> other provision of the Redwood City Code, as amended, <br /> the more restrictive standards or requirements shall <br /> govern. <br /> Section 12.16. Section 11.303 added. <br /> Section 11.303 is hereby added to the Fire Code to read <br />as follows: <br /> Section 11.303. False Alarm Response Charge. A charge <br />for Fire Department response to more than two (2) false <br />alarms in a sixty (60)-day period at a business or residence <br />shall be payable by the owner or owners of such business or <br />residence in accordance with a schedule established by <br />resolution of the City Council. <br /> 9 <br /> .-..-- <br />
