ORDINANCE NO. 2169 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 14.1, 14.12, AND 14.5 OF CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO DEFINITIONS, CONSTRUCTION, AND PLACEMENT OF RECEPTACLES FOR GARBAGE AND RECYCLABLES, RESPECTIVELY THE COUNCIL REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 14.1 of Article of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 14.1. Section 2. Section 14.12 of Article II of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 14.12. CONSTRUCTION: Each watertight can or receptacle for garbage of <br />waste matter shall be constructed of material approved by the Building Inspector of the <br />City and shall have suitable bales or handles on the outside." <br /> <br />Section 3. Section 14.15 of Article II of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />~Section 14.15. PLACEMENT OF GARBAGE RECEPTACLE, CONTAINER FOR <br />RECYCLABLES, CORRUGATED CARDBOARD AND YARD TRIMMINGS FOR <br />COLLECTION: <br /> <br /> A. Garbage Receptacle: <br /> <br />1. No garbage receptacle shall be placed or kept on or in any public street, alley <br /> sidewalk, footpath or any public place whatsoever, but shall be placed on the <br /> premises so as to be readily accessible for removing and emptying by the refuse <br /> collector. <br />2. Garbage receptacles may be placed on the premises so as to be readily <br /> accessible for removing and emptying by the refuse collector only between noon <br /> on the day preceding the scheduled collection and noon on the day immediately <br /> following the collection of refuse. <br />3. During spring and fall cleanup, garbage receptacles may be placed on the <br /> premises so as to be readily accessible for removing and emptying by the refuse <br /> collector for a period commencing one (1) week before the scheduled collection <br /> day and ending at noon on the day immediately following the collection. <br /> <br /> B. Container for Recyclables; Corrugated Cardboard; Yard Trimmings: <br /> <br />1. No container for recyclables, corrugated cardboard, or yard trimmings shall be <br /> placed or kept on or in any public street, alley, sidewalk, footpath or any public <br /> place whatsoever except at a location designated, from time to time, by the City <br /> and the refuse collector. <br />2. Containers for recyclables and containers for yard trimmings may be placed at <br /> the location designated by the City and the refuse collector only between noon <br /> on the day preceding the scheduled collection day and noon on the day <br /> immediately following the collection. <br />3.
