JAN 9 1984 ORDINANCE ADDING SECTIONS 12.18.5 AND 12.18.6 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PROVIDING FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE AND MATERIALS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Sec~on 12.18.5 is hereby added to the Code of the " City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Section 79.101 of the fire code is hereby amended to read as ~. follows: Section 79.101. ( a) General. The storage, use, dispensing and mixing of flammable and combustible liquids shall be in accordance with this article, except as otherwise provided in other laws or regulations

<br /> An inventory of the above items shall be provided to the Fire <br /> Department. The equipment shall be regularly tested and adequately <br /> maintained. Safety equipment used by personnel for fire fighting or <br /> chemical spill emergencies shall be compatible with the same equipment <br /> used by the Redwood City Fire Department. <br /> EXCEPTION - Equipment, already in existence <br /> but not compatible with Fire Department equipment, but <br /> easily adaptable, shall have adapters available. <br /> (h) Material Safety Data Sheets shall be readily available for all <br /> hazardous materials on the premises. <br /> ( i) Storage facilities shall be secured in such a manner as to <br /> prevent unauthorized access. <br /> (j) An annual inventory of hazardous chemicals shall be provided <br /> to the Fire Prevention Bureau on approved forms and said list shall <br /> identify the location of use, storage, amount, name, and hazard of each <br /> material. , <br /> Any change to the inventory that would create a new hazard class <br /> or exceeds the permit quantity limit shall be submitted to the Fire <br /> Prevention Bureau for approval before the change is made. <br /> HAZARDOUS MATERIAL MANAGEMENT PLAN <br /> Sec. 80.l04. <br /> (a) Hazardous Material Management Plan. <br /> Each applicant for a permit pursuant to this Article shall file a <br /> written plan, for the Fire Prevention Bureau's approval, to be known as a <br /> Hazardous Materials Management Plan (HMMP) , which shall demonstrate the <br /> suitable storage of hazardous materials. The HMMP may be amended at any <br /> time with the consent of the Fire Prevention Bureau. The HMMP shall be a <br /> public record except as otherwise specified.
