7B <br /> Local amendmen#s to the 2006 edition of the Intemational Fire Code and to the Page 2 <br /> Redwood City Municipal Code in the proposed Ordinance(s} include the following: <br /> 1. Adminis#rative changes and updates to existing sections and references to conform <br /> to language wi#hin, and publication of the new Code. <br /> 2. Addition of language tf�at wiN enhance information provided by fire a�arm systems; <br /> carry forward and codify the existing fireworks ban; and improve emergency radio <br /> communications in large structures. <br /> 3. Delete the requirement of air replenishment systems in high-rise buildings. <br /> 4. Ciarifies threshoid requirements #or the installation of fire sprinklers 'tn additions to <br /> residential structures {wiil be set at 1000 square feet or greater vs. percentage of <br /> structure involved in construction). <br /> 5. Continue prohibiting the storage of Class 1 flammable liquids in basemenfis by <br /> enhancing provisions of the internatronal �ire Code. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> 1. Waive the adoption of the Fire Code with local amendments which will result in <br /> Redwood City being regulated by the Fire Code as adopted by the S#ate of <br /> Califomia. <br /> 2.
