7B <br /> Page 9 <br /> Section 12.19. SECTI4N 901.4.3.1 OF THE F1RE CODE ADDED. <br /> Sectian 901.4.3.1 is hereby added fio the Fire Code to read as follows: <br /> Section 901.4.3.1. Multistoried, High Rise Safety Requirements. <br /> (a) Firefighters Communications Systems: In buildings six (6) or more <br /> stories in height, firefghters communication systems shall be installed in <br /> accordance with the following requirements: <br /> (�) �Jne 3L,�¢�S j�Clc �hal! be provid�d at each stairw�ll landing and two <br /> (2) access jacks shall be provided in a lobby area of the building in plain <br /> view of elevator doors, and in any event at locations and according to <br /> specifications subject to the appraval of the fire code official. <br /> (ii} �ne telephone set shall be provided at each floar of the building; <br /> provided, that such telephone sets shall be located in the iobby area at a <br /> location and according to specifcations subject to the approval of the fire <br /> code official. <br /> {iii) One additional telephone set shall be provided with not less than <br /> five hundred feet (500') of telephone cord and shall be maintained on a <br /> roller device providing convenient portabiiity. 5aid telephone set shali <br /> likewise be main#ained at a location and according to specifications <br /> approved by the fire code official. <br /> (b) Emergency Planning and lnformation: Buildings and occupancy groups <br /> specified in Title 19 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 3.�9, and <br /> buiidings with four (4) or more stories in height shall have posted a floor <br /> plan sign which sha(I provide emergency procedures at every stairway <br /> landing, elevatar landing, and immediately inside al1 public entrances to the <br /> building. Information contained in the floor plan signs shall include, but <br /> shall not be iimifed ta, the foliowing: <br /> (i) Lacation of exits and fire aiarm inifiiating stations; <br /> (ii) Description of fire alarm sounds and appearance; <br /> {iii) Fire Department emergency telephone number"911"; <br /> (iv} Prohibition of the use of elevators dur�ng emergencies; <br /> (v) [nstructions to be fol{owed by ambulatory, nonambulafiory, and <br /> disabled persons in the event of an emergency; <br /> (vi} Notation `you are here' or other readily understandable marking <br /> specifying the location on #he floor plan sign. <br /> Atty/Ord/Ord.293 7 <br /> 1204Q7 <br />
