7C
Page 30
Mitigation 6-1: lmplement the mitigation measures identified in other sections of
this EIR re[ated to project population-induced environmen#af impacts (TransporEation and
Circulaion, lfrasfruture an Public Srvices, Noise, and Air Quality). Those mitigations
identied in the 2003 EIR for Impact 6-1 that would remain applicable to the current Peninsula
Park project are:
1. Traffic Mitigations 7-7 through 7-17;
2. Publfc Service Mitigations 10-4 through 10-7 and 'i0-9;
3. Noise Mitigations 13-1 and 13-2; and
4. Air Quality Mitigation 15-1.
Due to the overall reduction in residential and cammercial devefopment proposed
by the current Peninsula Park project, the folfowing mitigation measures ideniified in the 2003
E!R are no longer necessary, ar have been modified taddress the revised project, as identied
thraughout this Addendum:
1. Traffic Mitigations 7-1 througF 7-6 and 7-18 through 7-27 (all eliminated);
2. Public Service Mitigstions 10-1, 10-2, and 10-8 {afl modified);
3. Noise Mitigation 13-3 (modified}; and
4. Air Quaiity Mi#igation 15-2 (efiminated).
Findings: Implementation of the retained or modified measures identifisd above
wnuld reduce identified environmentai impacts associated with the project-relafed population
increase to a less-than-significant level, with the exception of the curnulative with project
traffic impact on the Ef CaminolWhipple Avenue intersection (Impact 7-15), which woufd remain
significant and unavoidable. Due to right-of-way ard physical constraints, both of the
mitigation alternatives discussed in Mitiga#ion 7-15 are deemed infeasibie. Such changes or
alterations are within the responsibi{ity and jurisdiction of either Caltrans or the Peninsula
Corridor Jaint Powers Board (Caltrain) and not the City of Redwood City. Such changes can or
should be adopted by Caltrans or Caltrain. This impact is alsa overridden by project benefrts as
set farth in te statemet of overridrr consideatians.
B. Ernplovment Growth
Pofiential Impact 6-2: This praject-related local employment growth (estimated
at 125 new employees} has the potential to result in employment-re{ated environmental effects
(traffc, public services, noise, and air quality) as described in corresponding chapters of the E!R
(see chapters 7, 10, 13, and 15}, representing a potential(y signicant project and cumulative
impact.
Mitiga#ion 6-2: Implement the mitigation measures identified in other sections of
this table related to project employment-related enviranmental impacts (Transportation and
Circulation, Infrastructure and Public Services, Noise, and Air Quality). Those mtigations
identified in the 2003 EIR for Impact 6-2 that would remain applicable to the current Peninsula
park projecf are:
Atty/Reso/Reso.1772 g
121307
