6.C. - Page 6 of 7 <br />SIDE LETTER BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br />INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS (IAFF) LOCAL 2400 <br />RE: EDUCATION INCENTIVE PAY <br />8728379.2 RF 180-020 <br />Redwood City Fire Department Training Officer) shall receive one <br />hundred twenty-nine dollars ($129) of Education Incentive Pay per <br />month. <br />B. Employees in the classification of Firefighter/Engineer who are hired by <br />the City on or after January 1, 2019, and who have successfully <br />completed the California State Fire Training Chief Fire Officer <br />Certification (i.e., completion of the coursework required for the <br />certification, and completion of as much of the certification task book as <br />possible at the employee's current rank, subject to the approval of the <br />Redwood City Fire Department Training Officer) shall receive one <br />hundred twenty-nine dollars ($129) of Education Incentive Pay per <br />month. <br />C. Employees in the classification of Fire Captain who are hired by the City <br />on or after January 1, 2019, and who have successfully completed the <br />California State Fire Training Chief Fire Officer Certification (i.e., <br />completion of the coursework required for the certification, and <br />completion of as much of the certification task book as possible at the <br />employee's current rank, subject to the approval of the Redwood City <br />Fire Department Training Officer) shall receive one hundred sixty dollars <br />($160) of Education Incentive Pay per month. <br />D. Employees in the classification of Fire Captain who are hired by the City <br />on or after January 1, 2019, and who have successfully completed the <br />California State Fire Training Executive Chief Fire Officer Certification <br />(i.e., completion of the coursework required for the certification, and <br />completion of as much of the certification task book as possible at the <br />employee's current rank, subject to the approval of the Redwood City <br />Fire Department Training Officer) shall receive one hundred sixty dollars <br />($160) of Education Incentive Pay per month. <br />E. Employees, regardless of hire date, in the classification of Fire Prevention <br />Officer, who have successfully completed any of the following California <br />State Fire Training Certifications (i.e., completion of the coursework <br />required for the certification, and completion of as much of the <br />certification task book as possible at the employee's current rank, subject <br />to the approval of the Redwood City Fire Department Training Officer) <br />shall, upon approval of the Training Officer, receive one hundred forty- <br />five dollars ($145) of Education Incentive Pay per month per certification, <br />not to exceed a total of two hundred ninety dollars ($290) per month for <br />all certifications: <br />1.
