Each wave will include a mix of activities and <br />tools to inform and engage the public. <br /> <br />Wave 1: Re-Launch General Plan <br />· Objectives: Rekindle public interest; get focused community input to feed into land use, <br />housing, and transportation alternatives; build constituency for overall program. Review <br />and confirm previously approved General Plan guiding principles and vision statements. <br />· Tasks/Milestones: Joint kickoff meeting with Planning Commission and City Council, <br />flier, e-notice, media relations, materials for City website updates <br /> <br />Wave 2: Shaping our Future <br />· Objective: Establish and get feedback on citywide land use,housing, and transportation <br />alternatives with the goal of developing general plan goals, policies, and implementation <br />measures. <br />. Tasks/Milestones: Affinity group meetings, interactive Planning Commission/General <br />Plan Committee workshop series, flier update, survey, e-notice, media relations, <br />materials for City website updates <br /> <br />Wave 3: Validation/Celebration <br />· Objective: Get public buy-in on selected land use/housing/transportationalternative(s) <br />and General Plan elements <br />· Tasks/Milestones: Workshops with Planning Commission/General Plan Committee, e- <br />notice, media relations, "gazette," materials for City website updates <br /> <br />3.1 Collect/Review Data and Finalize Public Involvement Program/Schedule <br /> <br />This task will inClude review and compilation of outstanding background material on past and <br />related public outreach activities that might help inform direction for current efforts. <br /> <br />As part of this, CirclePoint will meet with the City's Public Information Officer (PIO) as well as <br />community development staff for input on outreach completed to date as it may influence <br />changes to future public engagement efforts. <br /> <br />CirclePoint will also conduct a brainstorming session with the City planning staff and Hogle- <br />Ireland to confirm: <br /> <br />· Key messages for each wave of the planning process (recognizing that such messages <br />may need to be adjusted as public comments warrant) <br />· Input on thelooklfeeVformat for informational materials <br />. Timing/general format for public workshops/roundtables <br />· Timing/approach for interacting with affinity groups , <br /> <br />CirclePoint will use findings from these efforts to prepare a Public Participation Schedule/Process <br />Diagram that serves as a flexible road map and can be shared with policy makers and <br />stakeholders.
