Vacate a portion of Island Parkway in Redwood Shores, reserving a public service <br />easement. <br /> <br />Senior Civil Engineer Vorametsanti presented the staff report and provided <br />some historical data on this project. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust opened the public hearing. There was no public comment. <br /> <br />MIS IralHartnett to close the public hearing. The motion passed by unanimous <br />voice vote. <br /> <br />MIS Hartnett/Aguirre to: <br />Recommendation: <br />Conduct a public hearing and adopt a resolution to vacate a portion of Island <br />Parkway located west of Oracle Parkway, reserving a public service easement. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 14834 VACATING A PORTION OF ISLAND PARKWAY IN REDWOOD <br />SHORES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PURSUANT TO PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, <br />CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE; OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA; <br />RESERVING A PUBLIC SERVICE EASEMENT (55' WIDE) <br /> <br />The motion passed by unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br />9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin NO.4 7 -2007. Council may direct staff to act on positions <br />taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus available in <br />City Clerk's Department). <br /> <br />B. Council Assignments Presentation <br /> <br />Mayor Foust presented the 2008 Mayoral appointments to various committees. <br />She thanked the Council Members who agreed to serve on these bodies. Mayor <br />Foust explained that a schedule of when these meetings occur will go out in the <br />near future. She outlined certain changes she made this year such as the omission <br />of the Council Liaison to the Housing and Human Concerns Committee and a few <br />other items. Mayor Foust will be sending a memorandum to the Chair of that body <br />regarding this decision. A memorandum will also go out asking Council Members if <br />they want to receive agendas and minutes of all Boards, Commissions and <br />Committees. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust stated that a weekly report will go out to Council following the <br />MayorNice Mayor meeting outlining what was discussed at that meeting.
