Check the condition and operation -of safety edges on car doors and of light rays on car at <br />every visit, and if light rays are inoperative, shall repair or renew them within twenty-four <br />(24) hours. If safety edges are damaged they shall be repaired or renewed. <br />7. At least quarterly the contractor shall inspect and repair all lamps and bells for car and hall <br />buttons and arrows as well as the lamps for the location directories above the elevator doors. <br />This shall be done at all locations and a written report shall be given to the Facilities <br />Maintenance Supervisor upon completion of the inspection and repair. <br />S. Contractor is responsible for controller programming or reprogramming if controller program is <br />malfunctioning for any reason. <br />9. Contractor is responsible for any and all repairs required and called out in State inspections. If <br />the contractor does not make the repairs by the deadlines given by the State, the contractor <br />shall pay for any late fees issued by the State. <br />10. Contractor shall not be re uired to: <br />a. Refinish, repair, and/or replace elevator car enclosures, hoist way enclosures hoist way <br />door panels, frames and sills, and lamps inside the cars, unless the foregoing are damaged <br />by negligence or misuse by any person or persons employed by or representing the <br />Contractor. <br />b. Repair or replace parts damaged by vandalism or negligence. <br />c. Repair or replace hydraulic cylinders and associated unexposed piping. <br />d. Repair or replace mainline and auxiliary disconnect switches, fuses, and feeders to control <br />panels. <br />e. Make changes or adjustments required by new or retroactive code changes. <br />f. Make renewals or repairs necessitated by fluctuations in the building AC power systems <br />exceeding +/- ten percent (10%) variation, extreme variations in the machine room <br />temperature, or tampering with the elevator equipment by unauthorized personnel. <br />C. Testing of Safety Devices <br />1. The Contractor shall periodically examine both car and counterweight, beginning within one (1) <br />month of award of contract. <br />2. The hydraulic elevators shall have the pressure relief valve tested annually. This test shall be <br />done within one (1) month of award of contract, and annually thereafter. <br />3. All elevators provided with firefighters' service shall be subjected monthly to Phase I recall and <br />a minimum of one -floor operation on Phase II to assure the system is maintained in proper <br />operating order. A written record of dates that tests were performed and findings on the <br />operation shall be made and kept in the machine room of premises. <br />4. Any battery lowering device shall be tested annually and operate as intended. This test shall be <br />done within one (1) month of award of contract. <br />5.
