6.D. - Page 1 of 65 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: January 13, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />General Services Agreement with Star Elevator, Inc. for providing general and preventative maintenance <br />of elevators and lifts <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a one-year agreement for general services <br />with Star Elevator, Inc. for general and preventative maintenance of elevators and lifts in an amount not <br />to exceed $70,000, and authorize the City Manager to extend the agreement for up to three additional <br />one-year terms, for a total contract amount not to exceed $280,000. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Redwood City (City) has 12 hydraulic elevators, three wheelchair lifts, and one material lift at <br />various facilities. These elevators and lifts require regular and emergency/urgent maintenance services. <br />On September 9, 2019, the Public Works Services Department (PWS) issued a formal Request for <br />Proposals for Elevator Maintenance Services by way of providing public notice in the local newspaper and <br />on the City's website.
