vacation at the rate of two -hundred (200) hours per year (7.6923 hours per <br />pay period). <br />7.15.3 Vacation leave shall not be accumulated in excess of two (2) years accrued <br />vacation leave computed to the 31 st of December, except upon written <br />authorization of the Personnel Officer. <br />7.15.4 In the event an employee is reinstated, prior service shall be included in <br />determining the applicable rate of accrual of vacation leave. Upon <br />termination of employment a regular employee shall be paid cash value of <br />his/her accrued vacation leave at the time of termination, in accordance <br />with the above schedule. Vacation leave shall not be credited to any <br />employee whose employment is terminated prior to certification as a <br />regular employee. <br />7.15.5 Vacation leave shall not be granted during the first twelve (12) months of <br />the original probationary period. <br />7.16 Illness During Vacation <br />7.16.1 An employee who commences a scheduled vacation period and <br />subsequently becomes ill before his or her vacation period has been <br />completed shall be placed on illness leave under the following conditions: <br />7.16.1.1 The employee otherwise qualified for illness leave as provided <br />by this MOU; and <br />7.16.1.2 The employee, if no longer ill, returns to duty immediately <br />following the vacation period; and, <br />7.16.1.3 The employee's illness is verified by a statement from an <br />accredited medical doctor for each such day of illness leave <br />requested. <br />7.16.2 When the employee's vacation leave is to be converted to illness leave, the <br />appropriate vacation credit shall be restored to the worker's earned <br />vacation balance, and a reasonable opportunity to utilize this vacation <br />credit shall be provided within the City's existing practices in order to <br />avoid loss of vacation credit. <br />7.17 Mileage Payment <br />The City shall reimburse employees for those miles employees are required to <br />drive their personal vehicles in the performance of assigned job duties as follows: <br />Actual costs to and from destination not to exceed a maximum computed at a rate <br />not to exceed current IRS mileage reimbursement limits for miles traveled both <br />12 <br />
