6.E. - Page 29 of 50 <br />• Store 30 days or more of hourly consumption reads in the AMI module providing the City with <br />the ability to extract detailed usage profiles for consumer information in the event of a long <br />duration communication failure. <br />• Provide monitoring and early warning low voltage alarming allowing the City to take corrective <br />action prior to the end of battery life. <br />The City has standardized on the Sensus TouchCoupler TR/PL for connectivity between the encoded <br />meter register and the AMI SmartPoint. Wired connections using Nicor connectors may be considered, <br />however, wired connections using gel caps, wire nuts, or other spliced connections will not be <br />considered. <br />Programming of Encoded Registers <br />Encoded registers shall be factory programmed to provide an AMI output resolution of one (1) cubic <br />foot. <br />Approved Meter Manufacturers <br />The City is open to use any water meter that is compatible with the City's Sensus FlexNet AMI system, <br />and meets the following minimum requirements, and all other requirements and technical <br />specifications in this request for proposals: <br />1. Meters shall have encoded registers <br />2. Encoded registers shall be compatible with the following Sensus SmartPoint models <br />a. 510M — TouchCoupler TR/PL <br />b. 520M — TouchCoupler TR/PL <br />3. The City has standardized on the Sensus TouchCoupler TR/PL for connectivity between the <br />encoded meter register and the AMI SmartPoint. Wired connections using Nicor wire <br />connectors may be considered as an alternative to TouchCoupler TR/PL, however, wired <br />connections using gel caps, wire nuts, or other spliced connections will not be considered. <br />4. Encoded Registers shall be capable of transmitting changes in consumption to the Sensus <br />SmartPoint in one (1) cubic foot intervals <br />Quantities and Pricing <br />Redwood City does not guarantee to purchase any specific quantity of any item quoted during the <br />period of this Agreement; and quantities may vary depending upon departmental needs. The City <br />reserves the right to enter into an agreement with multiple Proposer's for equipment that is most <br />advantageous to the City. <br />The quantities specified herein are good faith estimates of usage during the term of the agreement. <br />The quantities may be increased or decreased as requirements dictate and the City shall pay according <br />to the unit prices quoted in the proposal for the duration of the agreement. <br />After an agreement is awarded, the City will issue incremental purchase orders on an as needed basis. <br />PUBLIC WORKS SERVICES DEPARTMENT <br />FY 2019-20 RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL COLD WATER METER PURCHASES RFP <br />(9/13/2019) 6 OF 27 <br />120 <br />
