6.E. - Page 32 of 50 <br />Technical Specifications <br />1.0 General <br />Each meter shall have a unique manufacturer's Factory Serial Number permanently stamped on the <br />body of the meter. A unique Factory Register Number (if separate from meter body) and unique Factory <br />Communication Module ID are to be permanently printed on the register and communication module <br />faceplates/nameplates respectively. Duplicate copies of all IDs along with their respective barcodes <br />(code 128) are to be printed on a waterproof removable adhesive label (toe tag) and attached to either <br />the assembly or individual part to assist Redwood City personnel in the recording of installation data. <br />The Proposer shall submit with the bid a copy of their nationally published specifications for each model <br />and size meter listed in the bid schedules for review and evaluation. <br />2.0 Meter Inventory and Factory Accuracy Test Results <br />A CD, DVD, USB memory stick, email file or suitable electronic file which lists the "Factory Body <br />Number" and corresponding "Factory Register Number" must be mailed or transmitted to the Public <br />Works Service Department for each shipment of water meters so that the City can upload the data to <br />its meter inventory database. The information must be provided on a PC compatible, Microsoft Excel <br />version 5 or later spread sheet. The spread sheet columns for the meter data shall include but not be <br />limited to the following: <br />• Factory Body Serial Number <br />• Factory Register Number <br />• Meter size <br />• Model <br />• Manufacture Date <br />• Replace by Date (if battery powered) <br />• High flow accuracy test result <br />• Intermediate flow accuracy test result <br />• Low flow accuracy test result <br />• Any other data points necessary to differentiate meter sizes and models which are <br />proposed <br />3.0 Electronic Meters and Registers <br />If provided by the Proposer electronic meters and/or registers shall conform to the following <br />requirements. <br />For meters 5/8" x 3/4", 3/4", and 1" the register shall be micro -processor based, include a battery, and <br />non-volatile memory capable of storing all programmable and accumulated data. The entire meter <br />circuit and related components shall be fully potted and sealed from water intrusion and deemed <br />submersible. No components shall be replaceable or serviceable. The electronic register and meter <br />housing must be an integrated design with a minimum 8 programmable digits utilizing a liquid crystal <br />display (LCD), and must be tamper resistant.
