8.A. - Page 1 of 28 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />\:3aAW <br />DATE: May 18, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Memorandum of Understanding with partner transit agencies for completion of technical studies and <br />planning work supporting the creation of the Transit District and coordination regarding the Dumbarton <br />Rail Corridor Project, Redwood City Station Visioning and Concept Planning, Whipple Avenue Grade <br />Separation Study, and Reimagine SamTrans <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, authorize the City Manager to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with partner <br />transit agencies for completion of technical studies and planning work supporting the creation of the <br />Transit District as well as coordination regarding the Dumbarton Rail Corridor Project, Redwood City <br />Station Visioning and Concept Planning, Whipple Avenue Grade Separation Study, and Reimagine <br />SamTrans, and further authorize the City Manager to execute MOU amendments within the scope of this <br />authorization. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />Previous City Council Discussion <br />On November 4, 2019, the City Council considered a series of planning actions to shape future <br />development and transit service in Downtown Redwood City.
