At
pre -designated intervals, vehicles and equipment undergo a thorough evaluation including but not limited
to, age, mileage, condition, maintenance history, downtime, anticipated future repairs, usage, and vehicle
capabilities. This program is also designed to assist user departments in evaluating their operational
deployment strategies of fleet assets in an effort to maximize operational efficiency.
The Right of Way Division of the Public Works Services Department maintains all city -owned trees located
in the public right of way. In order to effectively carry out this function, staff utilize equipment capable of
providing access to trees that require pruning or removal. The Right of Way Division is currently using a
2005 Ford F550 with a Power Take -off (PTO) driven boom for aerial maneuvers and it has reached the end
of its useful life.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
264
