The low bid was determined based on the total base bid. The low bid of $521,111.11 submitted <br />by G. Bortolotto & Co., Inc. is 18% lower than the engineer's estimate of $639,000. Based on the bids <br />received, staff believes that the low bid is reasonable and responsive, and recommends awarding the <br />contract to G. Bortolotto & Co., Inc. <br />Construction is anticipated to begin in September 2020 and to conclude by November 2020. Notification <br />of the proposed work will be distributed to area businesses, residents, property owners, neighborhood <br />associations and schools in advance of the start of work.
