<br />been developed to the point that the improvements are detailed in scope and <br />concept; and (b) the specifications are in complete outline form. An Engineer's <br />Cost Estimate shall be submitted at this stage. <br /> <br />The City will review the 30% submittal and identify all special features required <br />and all specific types and. brands of equipment required. Any additional <br />requirements identified after the review of the 30% will be considered out of the <br />original scope of services. <br /> <br />The 95% complete stage is defined to be that point when the plans and <br />specifications are essentially complete and only final review comments will <br />need to be incorporated. A final Engineer's Estimate of probable construction <br />costs will also be submitted at the 95% stage. <br /> <br />Three copies of the 30% and the 95% design will be submitted to the City for <br />review. <br /> <br />TASK 3: BIDDING ASSISTANCE <br /> <br />Following the design and document preparation stage, the Consultant will provide pre- <br />award engineering and design services to assist the City in the sealed competitive bid <br />process and contract award. Services shall include reviewing and responding to <br />inquiries and clarification requests, as and when directed by the City. During the <br />bidding phase of the Project, the Consultant shall be available to prepare responses to <br />bidder's requests for clarification and the preparation of any addenda. A maximum of <br />two (2) addenda will be prepared, and each addendum will address a maximum of five <br />(5) items. Requests for clarification will be routed only to the City unless otherwise <br />instructed and will be documented in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary delays to <br />bid opening. <br /> <br />TASK 4: CONSTRUCTION REVIEW <br /> <br />The Consultant will provide the City with engineering support services during <br />construction, including design clarifications, responses to requests for information, <br />submittal reviews, and preparation of change orders. A maximum of ten (10) submittals <br />will be reviewed. All electrical and controls is considered as one submittal. A maximum <br />of five (5) change orders, each with a maximum of five (5) items will be prepared. A <br />maximum of 8 hours of field time is budgeted for project review when requested by the <br />City. The Consultant shall respond to reviews and requests as soon as possible so as <br />to avoid delays to the Contractor but in no case longer than seven (7) calendar days. <br /> <br />Assistance in acquiring the BAAQMD permit for the new generator will be provided. <br /> <br />These reviews and requests will be limited to items designed by the Consultant. <br /> <br />40f6 <br />
