Lastly, the PCRC report notes that 75% of participants were worried that the city will only <br />take symbolic action or make minimal gestures of change regarding systemic racism. Right <br />now, I'm concerned that what I see in the recommendations feels like exactly that -- <br />symbolic action. <br />I understand that this is a study session, and that the city is not actually going to take any <br />action today. That means, luckily, that you still have an opportunity to revisit these <br />recommendations to reflect the real feedback you have heard from residents -- it is NOT too <br />late. You have an opportunity to make real, systemic change to make Redwood City a city <br />where everyone, regardless of their race or class, can thrive.
